Sis, The Gym Is Calling – Is Really Your Enemy?
Summary:
We are unpacking the love-hate relationship many Black women have with fitness spaces and exploring ways to reclaim them as places of empowerment, self-love, and confidence.
If you’re reading this and thinking, ‘the gym is my enemy ‘, I’ve been there. I used to dread workouts, always finding other things to do. But I’ve come to realize that consistency in the gym can lead to elevation in all areas of life. Let me share my journey with you.
The gym provides discipline like no other because it requires you to show up for yourself. Often, we are working towards a goal so much that we forget to take care of ourselves along the journey. While often challenging, the gym provides a space for accountability, self-care, and community, which are three things all Black women need in their lives.
Having a bad day, workout! Stressed from the job, workout! Nervous about tomorrow, work out! Are you excited after getting the news? Go work out! Working out doesn’t only make your appearance better; it also makes you feel good. When you feel better, you do better!

Be honest… have you given the gym a real shot lately? 👀 If so, what’s been your biggest win? 💪🏾 If not, what’s holding you back? 🤔
