Chapter 46: Fashionably Fabulous: How to Step Up Your Fashion Game One Purchase at a Time!

Ladies, one of my favorite times of the year just passed last week,

The Met Gala!

And, I must admit that the fashion was beautiful. Some of my favorites included but were not limited to; Teyana Taylor, Halle Bailey, Yung Miami, Precious Lee, and Keke Palmer!

So, I thought it would only be right to discuss fashion on IHateAdulthood’s platform this week.

As we get closer to the Summer, spring and winter trends go, and we prepare for the beautiful sun that will make our melanin glow in this 2023 summer. Therefore, I thought it would be best to discuss some of the hottest fashion trends for this new season, so you’re Fashionably Fabulous, one purchase at a time.

#1: Someone, Please Pass Me The Denim!

Listen, one trend that will always stay in style is denim!

I still wear denim from 10 years ago that always gets compliments.

Whether vintage, modern, ripped, bedazzled, or avant-garde, denim never goes out of stock.

From jumpsuits to skirts to dresses and pants, I suggest you try denim this new season.

Your jeans can be printed; you could rock denim head-to-toe or wear it baggy. No matter how you swing them, you will be the next hot thing in these streets this season!

#2: The Cargos Have It!

Child, these cargo pants got everybody in a chokehold this season, and I have no problem with it.

I have bought a few pairs over the past few weeks and can’t wait to rock them over the weekend!

You can dress them down with a cute pair of sneakers or dress them up with a cute pair of pumps.

However, you rock it. Please know you will look good.

And purchasing them does not have to break the bank. You can grab them from Shein, Fashion Nova, Forever 21, Zara, or PLT.

But if you’re looking for a more high-end version, please check out Nordstrom, Hanifa, and Good American.

#3: Sheer Honey, Sheer it All!

As the weather improves, no one wants to be out in these hot streets not looking good, so I have the perfect solution.

Whether you’re a fashionista like me or like to style on the go, sheer items in your closet this season will be one of the best things you can add to your wardrobe.

You can wear sheer shirts, sheer pants, or sheer dresses. And, if you’re worried about it being too risqué, don’t worry. There are ways to make it tasteful.

One of the most admirable combinations I have seen this spring season is sheer pants with a fire blazer that covers the essentials but still gives you the sexy illusion you may want to wear on a night on the town.

Sheer tops can be worn to the workplace, brunch with your homegirls, and the beach.

Wherever you want to wear it, Sheer is the thing to rock!

#4: It’s Time to Put Away The Black, And Bring Out The Color!

Listen, color in the Summer is one of the best things to dust off from your closet and wear!

And some of the colors I think will be hot this season are Green, Orange, Red, and Prints, so go ahead and get your outfits ready.

Whether it is red shoes, green suits, orange skirts, or printed pants, color is rising again!

The sun is coming, and the color is coming out!

Ladies, prepare your accessories and find a nice outfit that fits the color scheme of the Summer 2023 season.

If you have time, share some photos of the outfits you will put together this Summer below in the comments.

I am always looking to highlight a fashionably fabulous Black woman!

And I want you to know that stepping up your fashion game does not have to break the bank!

The sale rack has some beautiful items that can be converted into an outfit that looks like it just came off New York Fashion Week.

It is always about how to put yourself together in the outfit, making it even better than what it was on the manakin.

If you need styling tips, please let me know! I can do a whole series throughout the Summer where I show different ways to style outfits for different occasions.

But, until next time, peace and prosperity,
